Play is more than entertainment. It gives cats and dogs a way to use energy, practise natural behaviours and spend positive time with the people around them.
Keep play interactive
Instead of leaving every toy on the floor all day, rotate a few options and join the game. Movement, chasing, fetching and problem-solving can make a familiar toy interesting again.
Match the toy to the pet
Some pets love chasing, some prefer tugging, and others enjoy puzzle-style play. Size, strength and chewing habits matter, so choose products that fit the individual pet rather than buying only by appearance.
Use short sessions
A few focused play sessions can be better than one long session, especially for indoor pets. Stop before your pet becomes frustrated or overexcited and let them rest.
Inspect toys regularly
Replace damaged toys and supervise anything with small, loose or easily swallowed pieces. Safe play should always come before keeping an old favourite toy.
